Blessings Left Behind

Upper Room/Cross
Upper Room/Cross

Our visitors leave behind many blessings in the Upper Room.  The basket at the foot of the cross is overflowing with prayers to the Almighty.   The basket of rocks with the names of unsaved loved ones is full.  The above drawing shows prayers raised to the Lord coming out of the windows of the Upper Room of the Prayer Center.  Some of these prayers are about repentance, forgiveness, unity, love, family, sickness, mercy, unsaved, persecution, nations, desperation and relationships and a word of thanksgiving for such a beautiful place.

Another touching word left behind came from a visitor from Kenya.  Here is what was written:  “Know that in the depths of Kenya in a very rural place, know that the church Makongeni Messianic church of Chungni ever is praying for peace of Jerusalem.  The people of Chungni and Makongeni church say greetings from Kenya to the people of Jerusalem and say if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and He rose from the grave, you shall be saved.”

Benefits of Listening to God

We encourage you to find a place where you can “listen” to your Father above.  Do not be discouraged by the difficulty of keeping your focus on Him.  He is delighted by your deep desire to walk closely with Him through your life.  We live in a world that has been rigged to distract us.  Each time we plow our way through the massive distractions to communicate with Him, we achieve a victory.  (Romans 8:33-34; Hebrews 4:14-16)

It Is Well With My Soul

We have no idea how many times we have sung this inspiring song here at the Prayer Center.  With 5,000 visitors this past year, it must have been hundreds of times.  What a joy it is to hear a room full of Israelis singing, “And, Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, The clouds be rolled back as a scroll:  THE TRUMP SHALL RE-SOUND AND THE LORD SHALL DE-SCEND, Even so, it is well with my soul.”  We now have this song in eight languages including Arabic and Hebrew.

Let It Rain

We praise God for the wonderful rain that we are now receiving. This is our third good rain of the Fall and it has rained almost continuously for four days. They are reporting that Jerusalem has received 25% of our annual rainfall. God is definitely answering your prayers for this life giving moisture.

“Ask the Lord for rain in the spring, for he makes the storm clouds.

And he will send showers of rain so every field becomes a lush pasture.” (NLT)

But, more than that, let us pray God’s word for the people of Israel, the Middle East, and the world.  These are precarious days with countries destroying their own people, peace talks that are just words, persecution of Christians, burning of churches, believers in prison and disunity among the body of Christ.  Lord, we come to you and confess how broken and disobedient we are.  Please help us to not compromise with the spirit of our age, culture and political issues.  Help us to be faithful to your Word.   Enable us to be the light of the world.  Godly righteousness is needed to come forth from the disciples of Jesus Christ.  Help us to shine your light into this dark world.

“Open up, O heavens, and pour out your righteousness.

Let the earth open wide so salvation and righteousness can sprout up together. I, the Lord created them.” Isaiah 45:8 (NLT)

And then Psalm 46:10

“Be still, and know that I am God!  I will be honored by every

Nation.  I will be honored throughout the world.”  (NLT)
