A House of Prayer for all Nations
“And he was teaching them and saying to them. ‘Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations?” Mark 11:17
On the JPC brochure and web site are written these words of Jesus, “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.” As Jesus cleansed the Temple in Jerusalem on the week before His crucifixion He quoted from the Prophet Isaiah (56:7) where God speaks through Isaiah to declare to the people of Israel that salvation is not for them alone, but also for all the peoples of the earth. Foreigners who join themselves to the Lord . . . and hold fast to God’s covenant will be welcome to worship in His Temple – God’s House of Prayer in Jerusalem.
From the day that we opened the doors of the prayer center for visitors in August of 2008, we have believed deeply that God has desired to establish the Jerusalem Prayer Center as a house of prayer for all the peoples of the earth. Over the last almost five years God has fulfilled His promise to us way beyond what we could imagine at that time.
Visitors have entered the doors of the center and met God in the Upper Room from all six of the inhabited continents. In 2011 & 2012 between 4,000 and 5,000 individuals met the Lord at the center. So far in 2013, we are on schedule to match those numbers as we have welcomed intercessors from 30 different countries. The largest number of visitors has been Southern Baptists with 585 from the USA, but close behind them have been Israelis with 581. The United Kingdom with 38 visitors tops the list of Europeans, Korea with 79 tops the list of Asians, and Australia with 12 represents Oceana.
The Jerusalem Prayer Center has truly been a place where intercessors have come from many of the peoples of the earth, but even more importantly it has been a place where prayer is lifted to the Lord for the harvest among all the peoples of the earth. Visitors from across the world pray for their own relationship with the Lord, for the harvest and planting of churches in their home countries, and for the harvest among the unreached and unengaged ethnic groups across the world. We invite you to join us soon in this God-given and Spirit-empowered task.
Please pray that JPC will continue to be a place where visitors from around the world come to understand in a deep way how much God loves them.
Please pray that the God-called intercessors who will join the Prayer Journey to Jerusalem from March 1 to 10, 2014, will return to their homes with an increased burden to pray for all the peoples of Jerusalem, for the peoples of Israel/Palestine and for the peoples of the whole earth.
Please pray especially for the local visitors that they will realize that Yeshua is their Messiah and Savior.
Please pray for the staff of JPC that our hearts will be united and in tune with what God is doing among us, that our minds will understand His vision for the center, and that our spirits will be saturated by the presence and power of the His Holy Spirit.
